Research Leads

  • Dennis E. McChargue, PhD

    Professor of Psychology, Director of the Clinical Psychology Training Program at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln.

    Dr. McChargue’s research team is active in examining vulnerability mechanisms that promote dual diagnosis among mental health and substance use/health behaviors. His team is active in applying research knowledge to treatment and intervention efforts for substance abuse. He also works on restorative justice research and incarceration. He is the Director of the Substance Abuse Specialty Clinic in the Psychology Consultation Clinic, former Consulting Clinician at Houses of Hope Transitional Substance Use Treatment Facility and the Substance Abuse Supervision Unit in State Probation. Lastly, he is an Associate member of the UNMC Eppley Cancer Center.

  • Anna Henson, MFA

    Assistant Professor of Practice in the Johnny Carson Center for Emerging Media Arts at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln.

    Henson’s work spans animation, motion capture, immersive installation, theatrical projection design, experience design, virtual production, documentary, and creative collaborations with behavioral science. Her projection design work has been seen in regional theaters across the US, at places such as the Public Theater and John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, and in Europe and China. Her current research work engages documentary and digital storytelling methods, co-creation processes, and avatars and digital identities. Henson received her MFA at the Glasgow School of Art, and an MS from Carnegie Mellon University.
